We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team in Sofia. This position is a senior role which aims to replace the external operational accountant with an in-house one. The main responsibilities are related to ensuring better optimization of the daily tasks and better communication with all internal clients and a decrease in the total errors made due to missing direct control.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the appropriate posting of all manual accounting entries and the Chart of Accounts is properly applied according to the company requirements
- Ensuring appropriate document turnover in full compliance with the requirements of the Bulgarian tax legislation
- Ensure appropriate posting of all vendor invoices and all client invoices
- Posting manual bank statements and petty cash movements
- Maintaining a digital archive of the posted documents and uploading them to the ERP system
- Settlement of payments with vendor open invoices, check of vendor’s balances, and balance confirmations
- Accruals of prepaid expenses and expenses
- VAT compliance – preparing and submitting VAT and VIES declarations, checking VAT registers, closing VAT payable and receivable GL accounts
- Preparing documents and reports for VAT audits and checks, wire transfers in the e-banking platforms of the company banks and BNB reports – own capital, transactions with foreign vendor and clients
- AR, AP and Ad hoc reports
Main requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience as Accountant in multinational company or accounting service providing company
- Good English both speaking and writing would be considered as advantage
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Experience of working with different accounting system would be considered as advantage
- Good knowledge in Bulgarian VAT and Corporate tax legislation
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
